Dickerson & Bowen Acquired by Granite Construction

BROOKHAVEN, Miss., Aug 12, 2024 – Dickerson & Bowen (D&B) today announced its acquisition via Granite (NYSE:GVA). With a 75-year legacy of road construction and construction materials production in Mississippi, D&B has been a vital part of the state’s infrastructure history, and the D&B name will remain a central part of the company’s branding. The company’s senior leadership, led by Vice President Clint Estess, plans to remain in place to manage and develop the business.

D&B’s operations consist of highway paving services, asphalt production, and raw mineral extraction, with a footprint spanning the Greater Jackson Area to the southern Mississippi border. The acquisition will solidify Granite’s footprint in a new Southeast Home Market and expand the presence created with their acquisition of Lehman-Roberts and Memphis Stone & Gravel in 2023. These acquisitions combined will provide coverage of nearly the entire state of Mississippi with very little geographic overlap between the companies’ existing markets.
